In the past several weeks, I have had the privilege of working with so many wonderful educators in different parts of the country. One of the districts was on the verge of bankruptcy, but the wonderful teachers attended the training even though they did not even know if they all would be returning to work. In another district I had the opportunity to train Title I teachers K-12 who worked with at-risk students. At the other end of the spectrum, I went to a child care program, and got to watch teachers interact lovingly with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. All of this made me think about our children, and the dedicated teachers who work with them.
This sure is not a career that has the highest paychecks of any career. But it is a career that makes a difference, more of a difference than anyone can possibly know. So today I am launching a new survey to make a point that you probably already know, and that is “Why do you work with children?” Go to www.atiseminars.org and make your voice heard.

My #1 reason for working with Children is: (It is God's Will & I am doing want He wants me to do & I am Loving it & I never knew that this is what I wanted to do & How much I am in tune with these children & wanting to Help them, & care for them & repair them in so many ways! AMEN>>> & for Working with my Co-Workers Again my Path is laid before me & He has me there for HIS reasons>>>> I know after many Jobs that this is no accident but intentional, Amen>> And if The Mighty One moves me Again, I am following Him (He is Leading) & I am all for it!!!!! Our children are our future! They will need to fix things "tomorrow" that we are not able to fix today. If I can leave some footprints on this earth and teach them our values, I will live on in their ideas. Our children are our most precious gifts, and I want to give them the most precious "thing" I own - my time, that seems to become shorter and shorter.
If there will be children who are kind to each other, keep the earth a good place to live at and may be - remember me, I will be very proud - since that is why I chose this job!
So fine. I think we all can be proud who work with children of the important work that makes such a difference.
I never knew growing up that my inner passion for others was put in me for this job. While pregnant with my first i read and read, to gain as much knowledge as i could about being a parent and what to expect. Just a few weeks after she was born a friend needed child care for her 10 month old. So sure, i would do that. I switched my hours to night when i went back to work and before i knew it I had neighbors knocking on my door. I did not start my business until I had been providing child care for a year. Instead I would say the Lord started by business for me. Now 20 years later I just can't imagine doing anything different. I do this job to honor the Lord. He will tell me when it's time to move on - to what I have no idea. There is nothing I can think of that would be more rewarding than living life everyday as a child and embracing all that God puts into my day every day. If I could, I would do this job for free. With the support of some of my families I was able to attend college, which took too many years to just get my AS degree in Early Childhood Education, and I'm so gratefull for those people.
