" Recipe for success."

I love to cook and to bake. Here is a recipe that will not bake a cake, but it sure will cook up a successful classroom.
· Add three spoons of Prevention that includes boundaries & consistency;
· Add one cup of Caring, and one teaspoon of Intervention.
· Blend together, stirring, and adding more Caring as needed.
· Sit back and enjoy the results, adding more of these ingredients as needed.
Hope your day is full of smiles and laughter. You are a difference maker.

Lower your voice.

Have you ever had laryngitis and you thought, “I don’t know how I’ll teach today?” You get to school and you have a great day teaching. That’s because you used a low voice. It’s the total opposite of raising your voice to get the attention of students. It works. The first time I ever saw this strategy was with a new teacher at my school. She spoke in such a low voice, I could barely hear her, but wow, she sure held the students in the palm of her hands when she talked.

Have a great day. You are a difference maker.

When you give to children, you receive."

One of the biggest delights teaching is to plan something fun for children. In the giving, you are the one that receives.
Have an awesome day. You are a difference maker.

"You can't chase happiness."

There are people who are always chasing happiness. They say things like, “When I get..., I will be happy.” The truth is, you don’t need a condition to be happy. Pursuing happiness is denying happiness here and now. The more you think of the things you already have that make you happy, the happier that you will be. Set goals. Plan for the future, but remember to enjoy the moments and the happiness within them now.Have a great day. You are a difference maker.

The safest investment for the future…

As we have all learned this year, money even invested, can be lost. But there is one type of investment that is never lost. When you invest in the “minds and hearts” of children, that investment is there forever.

Have an awesome day and an awesome week. You are a difference maker.

"Pull up the emergency brake."

When you park your car on a hill, you pull up the emergency brake to make sure the car doesn’t go backwards and slip down the hill. The emergency brake is a back-up to ensure that your car is safe.
You need that same back-up for yourself. There are times you may be doing too much. You need to take a rest and make sure you “do not coast downhill.” The best way to do that is to pull up your own emergency brake and stop for awhile. Take some time for yourself. Rejuvenate. Do something, even if it is something small that makes you feel great.
Have an awesome day and a wonderful week-end.
