Have “feel good” items in your classroom.

When setting up the classroom, be sure to include yourself! Bring items that make you feel good. These can include a photograph of someone special in your life, or a souvenir from a trip that is a reminder of a calm fun time in your life. When you are having a rough day, just take a minute to become calm by looking around at your own calming items. The calmer you are, the more the students will “catch” that mood.
